Growing Up Spiritually

After salvation it is time to train the "new man" by growing up spiritually.

How Do We Make Our Spirits Grow?

Contrary to what many Christians think, God is not responsible for our spiritual growth--we are!

Many Christians live from one difficulty to another. They are sick, afraid, without money and they are always looking to others to help them get through life and wondering why God is helping them.

If you've just been saved or you have just begun to read the Bible, you need to spend time growing your spirit.  While we should always learn more about the Bible and God's will for our lives, it is important to take the time to develop our spirits which will ultimately retrain our minds to God's thoughts or successful thinking.  Then when we ask for God's help, we will know how to receive it.

While this might sound like a huge undertaking, it's a means of moving forward in life rather than living through one bad experience after another - and it's really a joy, not a task as we begin to see the amazing changes in our lives by living God's way rather than by the negative realities many of us were given as children.

You are a "new man" in Christ Jesus.  This means that you must feed your heart or spirit a diet of God's Words for spiritual growth.  In time this will transform your mind, and as this process continues you will see the results in everything you do that was difficult or negative in the past.

Growing up spiritually is the result of taking that first step toward God by getting His Word in your heart.  It doesn't matter that you're just beginning your journey, it only matters that you begin. Once you do, your life will never be the same.

Two great lessons to help you begin your spiritual growth, is "Living Your Salvation."  Another great lesson is "God's Thoughts."
