Follow through the transformation series with Christian Transformation-2 that will help you develop the real you in Christ. It's easy to say we should look to God for developing our lives, but how do we do that? By attending church, Bible studies, and holding prayer groups? Those are all good answers, but there's a little more involved. You need to spend private time with God to get to know who He is and to develop a relationship with Him. In the process, you'll get to know yourself and what you really want. |
Seek After God's Desire For You
|
It's when
we spend time with God that we learn what's best for us and why we can
expect
to receive it without struggling and putting ourselves under stress.
Life
is busy with
careers, higher education, bringing up our children, making our
marriages work
and giving our time to our churches and community organizations. It's
not easy
to give God the attention He deserves. We find it way too
easy to
overlook Him in favor of all our busy activities--even Christian
activities. So
how can we daily find
the time for spiritual growth to express the shining light of God's
presence in
us? Simple,
we rest in
Christ. He already did all the hard work for us that we need done in
our lives,
so it is possible for us to take time out for God without our lives
falling
apart--we just find it difficult to trust God that this will
happen. This
means that we are trusting ourselves over God's Word, causing our faith
not to
work. If
you're experiencing
difficult times, financial loss, health problems, this could be the
reason
why. You are not giving God's word first place in your
life. When
you do, you'll be acting upon God's truth for your life with positive
results. This is what Christian Transformation is all about,
trusting God
for inner growth to realize outer changes in your life. So
we really don't have
the time to be too busy for God. When you consider that God
created our
lives and desires to be with us and guide us, why would He make us too
busy to
share our time with Him? General TransformationChristian
transformation begins to flow through our lives
when we rest in Christ and let go of who we are. Spiritually we die to
ourselves and allow God to build our characters and develop us through
His Word
for the sake of the Kingdom. CHRISTIAN
TRANSFORMATION LEADS TO KINGDOM LIVING We need
to stop relying upon self, but upon God.
Proverbs 3:5-10 tells us to do just that with the
promise of success,
long life and financial prosperity.
But
for those who take pride in their intelligence and their ability to
always win
in life "their way" this can be difficult, but I can assure you that
if you "lean not upon your own understanding" the rewards will be
great, including a peace that you will continue to prosper because you
are
moving in God's direction instead of your own.
"That
their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto
all
riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment of
the
mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ,"
Colossians 2:2. Colossians
3:10 says that the new man is renewed in knowledge after the image of
Him that
created him. "And have put on the new man, which is renewed in
knowledge
after the image of Him that created him."
Knowledge is the key word here, and it comes through
seeing something
and acknowledging it to be true for one's self. Acknowledgment
of God's understanding is an action we need to take to grow in our
salvation. God does
not zap us into His
ways, because we have a free will.
It is
up to us to live the fullness of our salvation or to let it remain
inactive so
to speak. Once you
allow God to work in you, He'll be able to work through you. You will be able to work
through God's
ability and succeed at attaining your dreams beyond what you can
imagine at the
moment--even if you consider yourself to be a person of great
intelligence! By God's
grace, you can live by His understanding and with it comes
"rest." While it
may be
difficult at first for you to trust in God's ways by acknowledging your
success
is because of the work of Jesus Christ on the cross, you will achieve
the most
fulfillment. So when
you question whether it's right or if it's possible for you to walk the
path of
Christian transformation, the only answer can be an emphatic, "YES."
If God tells us to do something, then He gave us a way to accomplish it. It's that simple! Go to Lesson 3 or return to Lesson 1. Return << Home << Mini Bible Studies |
